Be clear about what you want to learn. Are you trying to improve onboarding? Refine messaging? Reduce churn? - Choose the right audience
Make sure you’re talking to the people who can actually answer your questions. Don’t mix groups unless that’s intentional. - Write better questions
Ask about real experiences, not vague impressions. Avoid leading language. - Mix question types
Use closed-ended questions for trends, but always include at least one or two open-ended ones to get richer feedback. - Keep it short
Aim for five to seven questions. That’s usually enough to get what you need without overwhelming people. - Offer an incentive if needed
Especially if you’re targeting a group that’s hard to reach or typically unresponsive. - Actually use the insights
The survey isn’t the final step. It’s the beginning of something better. Share what you learn. Apply it to your next test or campaign.
